How this Pinpoint answer page works
This page gives you today’s answer plus all five clues for the LinkedIn Pinpoint puzzle on August 1 2026. Tap any blue clue bar to reveal clues up to that point. Reveal next clue uncovers one more clue at a time — useful when you want a nudge without giving up the win. Reveal answer skips the suspense and shows all 5 clues plus the solution. Clear all resets the board back to just clue 1, so you can try a fresh approach.
The score chip above the board updates live as you uncover clues. It mirrors LinkedIn’s actual scoring: 5 points if you guess after one clue, then 4, 3, 2, and 1 as each new clue is revealed. The lower the number, the less help LinkedIn gives you credit for — so revealing just one extra clue here can give you the push you need without spoiling the rest.
What is LinkedIn Pinpoint?
Pinpoint is LinkedIn’s daily word-association game. Each puzzle gives you five clues, revealed one at a time, all pointing to the same theme — a category, an industry, a phrase template, anything. Your job is to spot the connection. Guess after clue 1 and you score 5 out of 5. Need all five before it clicks and you score 1.
The clues run hardest to easiest. The first clue is usually the most cryptic; the fifth is almost a giveaway. A new puzzle drops every day at midnight UTC, and your daily score posts to LinkedIn’s leaderboard alongside your network. The full archive of past puzzles lives on this site — browse every Pinpoint puzzle since launch.
Tips for solving today’s puzzle
Before you reach for the answer, try this: read clue 1 and brainstorm at least three possible themes, not just one. When clue 2 drops, see which of your guesses still fits. That narrowing process is how the fastest solvers approach it.
Pay attention to how specific each clue is. A clue like “oak” could point to dozens of categories — trees, wood, last names, song titles. But “birch” alongside it narrows things hard. The connection between clues is usually more telling than any single clue on its own.
Watch for LinkedIn’s recurring formulas: “Types of X,” “Words that come before/after Y,” “Things found in Z.” If the clues seem unrelated as nouns, try plugging each into a phrase template — you’ll often find the pattern that way. Reading through past puzzles for an hour teaches the puzzle’s quirks faster than playing.
About this puzzle & LinkedIn Pinpoint
What is today’s LinkedIn Pinpoint answer?
For August 1 2026 (puzzle #823), the canonical answer is Things used when making pottery. Tap Reveal answer above to see it in context with the full clue list, or browse the archive for any past day.
How is Pinpoint scored?
You score 5 points if you guess the theme after clue 1, then 4, 3, 2, and 1 as you reveal each additional clue. The minimum is 1 point if you wait for all five. There’s no penalty for an incorrect guess (you keep going), but each “next clue” skip costs you one possible point.
When does the next Pinpoint puzzle drop?
A fresh puzzle goes live at midnight UTC every day. That’s 8 PM Eastern (EST) / 5 PM Pacific (PST) the day before in the US. Our scraper pulls the new puzzle at 1 AM New York time, so tomorrow’s answer is on the homepage by then.
Why so many accepted spelling variants?
LinkedIn pre-generates a wide list of accepted answers per puzzle — typically 2,000 to 4,000 variants. The list includes synonyms, plurals, conjugations, common misspellings, and single-character typos so you don’t lose a streak to a stray letter. We show only the canonical answer.
Can I replay yesterday’s Pinpoint on LinkedIn?
No — the official LinkedIn app only shows the current day’s puzzle. Once midnight UTC hits, yesterday’s puzzle is gone from the play interface. That’s why we keep a complete archive of every Pinpoint since launch — you can always revisit a past day’s clues and solution here.
Where do I play LinkedIn Pinpoint?
The official game lives at linkedin.com/games/view/pinpoint/desktop. On mobile, open the LinkedIn app and tap the games icon — Pinpoint is next to Queens, Tango, Crossclimb, and the other daily puzzles. A LinkedIn account is required to play and track your streak.
Is PinpointAnswers.com affiliated with LinkedIn?
No. We’re an independent fan-built reference. LinkedIn® and Pinpoint are trademarks of LinkedIn Corporation. We pull official puzzle data from LinkedIn’s public game API every day so players have a permanent, searchable record. See About for more.
